WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY ASPIRING PHOTOGRAPHER OR FILMMAKER IS A HERO IN THE MAKING
ABOUT ANT CLAUSEN
Ant Clausen was born in Takapuna, New Zealand, where he spent the majority of his childhood. With a thirst for adventure and travel he later left his beloved New Zealand to discover the world and in doing so unleashed his passion for photography.
He was never without his camera. Wherever he landed, his raw talent captured the life, soul and atmosphere of whoever and whatever was in front of him. He was a natural talent with a larger than life itself personality which he always used to bring out the best in whomever he was photographing. Eventually, through sheer determination, hard work, wit and charm, coupled with a burning desire to be his own boss, Ant became a self-taught, professional photographer, establishing himself in Liverpool where he worked as a successful photographer for over 10 years.
Tragically, aged 47, Ant passed away on 21st January 2023 whilst on a family holiday in his New Zealand. The loss of such a huge, talented and generous spirit is still utterly incomprehensible but through his artistry and vision, his talent and passion will continue forever.
Ant was always ready and willing to help young people at the start of their creative careers and it seems only right that, despite his much missed physical presence, he should continue to help others chase their dreams.
The Ant Clausen Fire It Up Fund has been created to continue his legacy. At the heart of the Fund is the belief that every aspiring photographer or filmmaker is a hero in the making. The Fund is Inspired by Ant's journey, his fierce dedication and his courage and determination.
